Electro-physical plant control

Weed control & crop desiccation — without the chemistry.

A proven electro-physical alternative to synthetic herbicides. Powered by high-voltage electricity and our proprietary conductive fluid, volt.fuel®, we destroy plants from root to leaf — cleanly, reliably, and at competitive cost.

The problem

The chemistry is running out.

Weed control has leaned on synthetic herbicides for decades. That model is now under pressure from every direction — biologically, politically, and commercially.

Resistance is spreading

  • 273 weed species already resistant to herbicides.
  • Resistance reported in 102 crops across 75 countries.
  • Evolved against 21 of 31 modes of action.

Regulation is tightening

  • EU Farm-to-Fork: 50% pesticide reduction by 2030.
  • Increasing scrutiny of glyphosate, diquat and other key actives.
  • Few new herbicide modes of action in the last 30 years.

Consumers want clean food

  • Rising demand for organic and residue-free produce.
  • Food & consumer brands are pushing residue limits down.
  • Existing alternatives (tillage, thermal, robotics) don't scale.
The solution

A physical mode of action — powered by electricity.

Our tractor-mounted system pulses high-voltage electricity through crops and weeds, disrupting the plant's vascular system from the inside out. Our proprietary conductive fluid, volt.fuel®, cuts the plant's electrical resistance by up to 90% — making the whole system economically viable in real field conditions.

1

Electroporation, in microseconds

Pulses up to 5,500 V are regulated in microseconds to destroy the plant's vascular tissue.

2

Root-to-leaf destruction

The physical effect hits the whole plant — not just the surface — and doesn't rely on plant metabolism.

3

No residues. Weather-independent.

Works regardless of sun, wind or rain after application — and leaves zero residues in soil or food. Certified organic.

Why it matters

Good for your harvest. Better for the field.

For the farmer

  • Reliable harvest timing. More weather and day-time independence than chemical desiccation.
  • Same or lower cost than conventional herbicides.
  • Yield gains possible thanks to more flexible harvest windows — the crop stays in the ground longer.
  • Works on resistant weeds that chemistry can no longer control.
  • Fits conventional and organic systems. Supplement your herbicide programme to cut use and tackle resistant weeds, or operate fully chemical-free in organic.

For the planet

  • Zero chemical residues in soil or food — certified 100% organic.
  • Improved soil health vs. tillage and chemistry; reduced CO₂ emissions.
  • Supports regenerative farming without sacrificing productivity.
  • Doesn't accelerate resistance — it doesn't rely on a chemical mode of action.
Applications

Field-validated across crops and continents.

Six seasons of field trials across 12 countries and 5+ major crops, including potatoes, oats, barley, wheat and cover crops. Commercial focus for 2026–27:

🥔

Potato desiccation

Reliable timing for harvest — no glyphosate, no diquat, no waiting for the weather.

🌾

Oat & cereal desiccation

Clean pre-harvest drying without residues on grains destined for food or feed.

🌱

Cover crop termination

Knock down cover crops without tillage and without chemistry — protecting soil structure.

Herbicide-resistant weeds

Because the mode of action is physical, resistance doesn't transfer. Effective where chemistry has failed.

Including yellow nutsedge

Cyperus esculentus is notoriously difficult — it spreads via underground tubers and shrugs off most herbicides. High-voltage electroporation disrupts its vascular system from leaf to root, suppressing top growth and stressing the tuber network in a single pass, without any chemical residue.

🌿

Organic farming

Certified 100% organic — a scalable plant-control tool for growers who can't use chemistry at all.

🔄

Integrated / conventional farming

Works alongside your existing herbicide programme. Target emerged weeds chemistry can no longer control, reduce overall herbicide load, and meet Farm-to-Fork reduction targets without scrapping your current approach.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Can I use it alongside my existing herbicide programme?

Yes. The epc.160 targets emerged weeds and plants — it is not a soil-applied or residual product, so it fits naturally alongside conventional herbicide programmes. Use it to tackle resistant weeds that chemistry can no longer control, reduce your overall herbicide load to meet Farm-to-Fork targets, or go fully chemical-free in organic systems. You decide where it fits in your operation.

Is this actually organic-certified?

Yes. The process leaves no chemical residues in soil, crop or food, and is compatible with organic certification. The conductive fluid volt.fuel® is designed to meet those requirements.

Does it work on herbicide-resistant weeds?

Yes. Because the mode of action is physical rather than chemical, resistance mechanisms that neutralize herbicides don't transfer. The system destroys the plant's vascular tissue regardless of its biochemical profile.

What's volt.fuel®?

Our proprietary conductive fluid. Sprayed ahead of the electrodes, it reduces the plant's electrical resistance by up to 90%, which is what makes the whole system economically viable at field scale.

Can I run it from my existing tractor?

Yes. The epc.160 is ISOBUS-integrated and controlled directly from your tractor's display. It's designed to fit into a standard modern farm equipment setup.

When can I get one?

The epc.160 is sold today. The 2025 series is available at an attractive price — outright purchase, or renting and leasing. 2026 and later delivery slots are also available for order now. Get in touch and we'll find the right option for you.
